A majority of Americans disapprove of the Obama administration's deal with Iran to curb its nuclear program, a new poll shows.
The Gallup survey released Wednesday finds that 57 percent of respondents give a thumbs-down to the deal, while only 30 percent approve.
According to the poll, 80 percent of Republicans oppose the deal signed with Iran and six world powers; 51 percent of Democrats approve, while just 38 percent don't.
In other findings, the survey shows:
75 percent of Americans think Iran's pursuit of a nuclear weapon represents a critical threat to the United States over the next decade; 77 percent said the same thing last year, before the deal was finalized.

14 percent of Americans view Iran positively; Syria has only a 12 percent approval rating and North Korea gets just 8 percent approval."Iran retains its spot as one of the least popular countries in the eyes of U.S. adults," the pollster states in its analysis of the new data, noting the "fierce opposition to the nuclear deal" from GOP lawmakers in Congress as well as that of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu "may have helped shape the sour national mood on this issue."
