PRO-LIFE FEMALE LEADERS: "WE CANNOT CELEBRATE HILARY CLINTON AS FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

A group of nationally known female leaders of national pro-life organizations say they “cannot celebrate” Hillary Clinton's historic achievement of becoming the first woman nominated “for the office of the U.S. president by a major political party,” because of her “radical pro-abortion record.”

In April, Clinton told NBC's Chuck Todd, “The unborn person doesn't have constitutional rights,” a more forthright statement than many Democratic politicians would be willing to make on the divisive social issue.

The statement came shortly after the former first lady told a campaign crowd in New York state, “We need a president who is passionate about” abortion, “seeing it as a top priority.”

After initially shying away from Planned Parenthood following the release of undercover videos depicting their sale of unborn babies' organs, Clinton told the nation's largest abortion provider, “I will always have your back.”

The Susan B. Anthony List has warned that Clinton's extreme positions – such as supporting taxpayer funding of abortion, which is opposed by 70 percent of the American people – threaten her electoral viability in November.

Clinton supports repealing the Hyde Amendment, which President Jimmy Carter signed into law, preventing taxpayer funding of elective abortion in most cases. She has also said she wishes to rescind the Helms Amendment, a 1973 law that bars U.S. funding of abortion “as a method of family planning” overseas.

“The unholy alliance between Clinton and Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain, is disgraceful,” says the statement, which was released early on Friday morning.

“Planned Parenthood receives over $500 million in taxpayer money annually, then funnels tens of millions of dollars to candidates like Clinton to further its agenda and increase its bottom line. They both profit from the abortion industry in a self-serving cycle,” the pro-life women said. “Instead of empowering women, Clinton and Planned Parenthood lie to women, betray women, and sell out women and children, all in the name of profit.”

Planned Parenthood endorsed Hillary Clinton in January, breaking precedent by backing a candidate during the midst of a contested primary against another Democrat with a 100 percent voting record in favor of abortion-on-demand. The group, which performed 323,999 abortions in 2014, said it will spend up to $30 million supporting her in the general election against presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton became the presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party after besting Senator Bernie Sanders in the California primary this week, with the help of her state campaign chair, Buffy Wicks. However, the Associated Press proclaimed Clinton the nominee before the vote due to her overwhelming support among the party's superdelegates, the unelected decision-makers drawn primarily from the ranks of party insiders.

“Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood do not represent us,” the pro-life statement concluded.

Their statement reads in full:
"As female leaders of the pro-life movement who represent millions of women of all ages, we cannot celebrate this first nomination of a woman for the office of the U.S. president by a major political party because of Hillary Clinton’s radical pro-abortion record and alliance with the abortion lobby. The unholy alliance between Clinton and Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain, is disgraceful.

Planned Parenthood receives over $500 million in taxpayer money annually, then funnels tens of millions of dollars to candidates like Clinton to further its agenda and increase its bottom line. They both profit from the abortion industry in a self-serving cycle. Instead of empowering women, Clinton and Planned Parenthood lie to women, betray women, and sell out women and children, all in the name of profit. Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood do not represent us."
